Amy L. Butters, co-founder and Managing Partner of Butters and Bye, P.C. and the San Diego DUI Hotline, began her law career in San Diego, California, graduating in the top 20% of her class from California Western School of Law and passing the California Bar Exam in 2000. From the very beginning, she has been motivated to make a difference. During law school orientation back in 1997, a professor asked her why she wanted to be an attorney—she answered, “Because I want to help people.” Nothing has changed.
As a dedicated DUI Defense Attorney, Ms. Butters considers it a privilege to represent those accused of DUI. She devotes unprecedented personal time and attention to her clients because customer service matters—each client talks to her directly on ALL matters pertaining to his or her case. Her clients have often referred to her as a “breath of fresh air” because she treats them with respect and constant professionalism. In the courtroom, Ms. Butters is charismatic and confident—in her first jury trial, she handed a seasoned prosecutor his first loss.
Ms. Butters is a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and annually attends the DUI conference in partnership with the College of DUI Defense in an effort to maintain her understanding of current DUI defense strategies.
